Life doesn’t owe you anything
06 Jul 2017
It’s amazing how we often want to blame other people or circumstances for how our lives turn out. The reality is that we have 100% responsibility for our own lives and the sooner we accept that fact the better our chances of making our lives even more successful.
In this post, I’d like to explore five basic ideas about life that can shine a ray of light on your circumstances. Think a little about these ideas and they may just provoke you into changing your mindset about life for the better.
Here we go:
Life doesn’t owe you anything
Life doesn’t owe you anything; you must come to terms with that. If you want to get the best out of life, you must stop wishing and hope that you will have things simply because you are a real person. You will be shocked to realize that you only get what you have paid for or what you are paying for right now. The first step to changing your life is to take responsibility for who you are right now and who you want to be going forward. This step is what will help you unleash the resources that will help you get to where you want to be and to become the kind of person you want to be. At the end of the day, take life as it comes and make the best of it. Take charge of your life and stop blaming anything and everything you can take care of.
You only get what you demand
Life will never give you what you deserve; it will only give you what you demand. Those who will be able to pay the price of success and greatness must be ready to bend their backs, roll up their sleeves and sweat it out. You will get only what you consistently demand in strategic efforts and hard work. As long as you give your best every time, life has no choice but to pay you big when the time comes. After all, the best preparation for a better tomorrow is to do your very best today. If you do your best today, you will certainly have no regrets tomorrow.
The quality of your life is a choice
Whatever situations you have come to accept will stay with you. As long as you are comfortable with where you have been and what you have, you are not going anywhere. Progress is the result of a restless struggle for more, a relentless search for something more; the passionate commitment to growth and the zeal to go all the way. Never stay where you are, there is always more. Do not worry about competing with other people, just strive to do better than what you did yesterday. Success is a function of progress and progress is a huge ingredient to happiness.
Life is designed to defeat the weak
If you are not ready to shed off weakness and embrace courage, you may end up miserable. You need to come to that point where you are not ready to just lie down there while life continues to rain a barrage of blows on you. Blows of pain, blows of discouragement, blows of fear. Blows-Blows-Blow Refuse to be weak, increase your strength and make life what you want it to be. The best way to avoid weakness is to invest in yourself, work to improve on your weaknesses and amplify your strengths. This way when doubt and fear creep in, you know you have enough strength to soldier on, enough skills and talents to pick yourself up when you are knocked down. Before you can be success at anything, work on yourself, to become who you want to be. Success is not just about what you achieve, it is also about who you become in the process, a person of strength.
You have only one life, make the best of it
Do not waste time in meaningless grudges and regrets. You owe yourself the best in life, and that is what you should focus on. If you make a mistake along the way, don’t dwell on it; learn from it, make amends and move on. Never allow yourself to wallow in self-pity or become miserable, what you do with your short life is your responsibility. Stop waiting around for something to happen to you or for you; step out into the spotlight and make the best of what you have and who you are. Beware; everything you need to be phenomenal is already in you. Reach in deep and bring it out. You only have one life, make the best of it, become the best you that could ever exist on this planet.
From the day we are born, we begin the journey that leads to so many challenges and opportunities. It’s never a straight road, it meanders, curves and turns and often we see no hope for the future. I hope that with the above words your mind may be provoked to see that if you take responsibility and do your best with what you have, you can surely make the journey an enjoyable one, despite your circumstances.
